conner working on details of a tall vase workshop comments

i am thankful that i am invited to teach workshops. i enjoy the process of teaching and am continually amazed at the talent of the individuals in my workshops. the reason for teaching is to transfer information and inspiration to those that attend. often i hear from individuals after a workshop - sometimes soon after, sometimes a long period after. i always enjoy hearing from them and seeing images of their work. below are some comments about workshops of mine from the individuals that attended.

Conner, thanks for the great class!!! It met my goals of combining throwing with handbuilding to take the best of both worlds. I learned a ton and can't wait to put some of the lessons to practice. As you could tell, I'm only beginning my exploration of pottery techniques and look forward to many more years of growth and new and enhanced skills! There is so much to the art...so many elements to a given piece...so much to learn! Thanks for being sharing some of the techniques you worked diligently to master! - washington, dc

Your workshop provided great inspiration and I have been happily sketching out ideas and coaxing them out of the clay. Thank-you for a wonderful workshop. - north carolina

Actually the workshop was not expensive, your workshop was priceless:) - south carolina

Thank you so much for the awesome workshop. I didn't know what to expect and was blown away by how much I could learn and absorb in one day! You are very generous with your knowledge and information and your stories made for a very fun class. - colorado

I've learned 2 things this week.. well 3
1--- not to be afraid to alter my clay alot:)
2-- that i need to believe in myself more , thank you
3-- that i need to make myself have time alone to think and inspire myself..
oops 4
4-- I live in a beautiful place and i need to take the time to look at the design in everything
i probably could come up with more:)
You are a great person, I have always believed that everyone we meet in life touches us in some small way and changes our being forever.. you are one of these people.. ::)
Take care , and keep changing people for the better you will leave a trail:) - south carolina

Your class was exactly what I expected and more. I love your pots and would be the first one to sign into your class if you came back. - british columbia

I had a fabulous week working and learning from you. it was a pleasure getting to know you and your family. you are quite the storyteller which made the demos so interesting! Thanks for a wonderful workshop. i am looking forward to more in the future. - louisiana

The demonstrations were really good. Your warm and friendly manner was terrific. I think your workshop freed me to use some techniques. - colorado

Hi Conner! Thank YOU for the wonderful workshop. I got a lot out of it. Not only were the demonstrations good, all your little anecdotal stories and your words of wisdom were also very appreciated. - british columbia

thanks for your GREAT workshop. i enjoyed it immensely. i was at the stage in my throwing when i was ready to focus on details. you shared many new and creative ideas that i am now in the process of trying. throwing 7 pounds for the base of your vase is a challenge for me. with each try i am able to get the body a little higher. i think you are one of the best teachers i have had. i appreciated all your ideas but more than that, i really appreciated you sharing your inspiration, your process and what is important to you as an artist. i do hope to meet you again. - washington state

We were absolutely delighted with you and your workshop at the! Besides the wonderful forms you make, we cannot stop talking about how "clean" you work. That just amazed us all, too. (Wearing that dark shirt was great for the photo's .....and made it all the more obvious that you do not slop water around like the rest of us when you work. - colorado

I really enjoyed your workshop and appreciate your willingness to share your skills, ideas and thoughts. - british columbia

Hey Conner, Just wanted to tell you thanks for a great workshop. We all had a great time, the dig's are wonderful and I know ya'll will have great success on both ends. I also need to tell you thanks so much for the push. I had given an assignment to myself to make up a new artist statement. I seem to found something I can live with for a while, and I thank you. Yours inspired me and I am sure that it helped me to find my words. Also, I like my handles a bit more! That is a biggie. I have never cared for them and you helped me to see why. - texas

Hi Conner! Thank you for the email and for sharing your knowledge & skill with us. I will be going back next year to learn some more! - british columbia

Thank you for inviting me to sit in on your class! I love the organic life that springs from your pieces, the attention to small details, and your ability to describe the processes thereof. - washington state

We were absolutely delighted with you and your workshop. - colorado
