conner burns

conner is a studio artist in natchez, mississippi.

it was not the theatre or museums he visited during his youth - but the art that filled his childhood home that produced his feeling that ‘art is part of life rather than simply entertainment’.

the natural environment, physiology, art festivals, his father (clay) and his mother (fiber) influenced his future and his art. He desires for his art to reflect nature, not literally, but in how it ‘feels’…

through graduate school, corporate, teaching studios, art festivals, workshops, etc … conner has done his best to simplify his life and retreats to his studio to create art in the quiet, tranquil world that he has carefully created.  then shares his art with you.

nature and its rich subtleties and organic influences that dominate the natural environment are important in his art.  conner’s intention is for his work to look as if it grew that way – rather than being ‘made’.  texture, both visual and tactile, are components that are used to encourage you to take a closer look - to reach out and touch.

frequent places that bring you joy, peace and energy … wherever that might be.  for me it is my studio and nature.
